The old house
This old house was situated at the end of a road and each summer
All the family used to move in this summerhouse.
Our ancestors used to live in this mansion but were too old to occupy
This house, so the grandchildren and their parents used to come every
Summer and we enjoyed the fresh air of the country,
We could smell the flowers and the hay lying in the golden fields.
Everybody were enjoying staying there, we used the wood stove to cook
Because there was no electricity in the house. Everyday we had to put logs
In the wood stove to warm up the place, we used to sit around the kitchen
Table at night and tell stories and tales.
We enjoyed reading stories from the books we found in the house.
Those books were belonging to the grandmother.
Without realizing we were living good memories and happiness,we
Just enjoyed staying there for the summer. Sometimes we had visitors
However, we used to live without any visitors so we enjoyed their visit
This was like a big fest and we used to cook all kind of foods and desserts
And we used to eat in the summer kitchen, because of the extreme heat of the summer.
Every kids were going early to bed; there was no electricity, just an
Oil lamp, soon the dark fell, the house, and the occupants were
Sleeping deeply. The next morning as the sun rose you could smell the
Breakfast that my mother cooked on the wood stove.
Sometimes the kids used to help the neighbours with their tasks on the farm
Every summer they had hay to pick up and clean the stables. But the boys
Liked to help their neighbours and learned about the animals on the farm.
All the woman were kept busy with the garden, the cooking and the cleaning
We were living like in the old century.
This kind of life taught us family values and how people used to work
In the old century, they were kept very busy with the farm and the garden
Moreover, the animals, but certainly were happy and were living a simple life.
All the kids were enjoying living in an ancestral house, they were finding
All kinds of Treasures in the house; old hat, old clothes, violin, even
Old records of songs. This was happiness and we learned to live differently from the city.
Sometimes,we were afraid when the thunderstorm and the rain was falling,
However, excited, we used to go out to see the big trees bending under the wind.
This was spectacular, and we were standing on the old porch waiting for the
End, of the storm.
This kind of life was real life and this ancestral way to live in the "old house"
Without electricity and far from the neighbors brought us a new way to live and
We shared unforgettable moments between us.
