Poetry: I used to be

by Blue Lightning

Created on: June 03, 2008

I used to be
An unhappy preteen girl
Seemingly left in the shadows
Of an unknown evil
Nothing to light my world
Nothing to dry my tears
Every night I wondered,
"When will I be free
Of this everlasting darkness?"
But, now, I am grown up and mature,
Open-minded and simple-hearted,
And more than happy
To be enabled to dwell
In the freedom and peace
Of the world I long desired.
