Young and Molested

Today was the first time Jessica* could actually feel loved. Love that she so desperately wanted. She was finally with her father. The man that did everything he could to finally get his baby girl back. It was the place where she felt like she belonged.

Her mother and father divorced when she was just 3 years old. At such a young age, she had to choose between her mother and her father. She loved them both just the same, but she could not choose. So they chose for her to stay with her mother.

As time went by, her mother would not pay attention to her, and she left Jessica with her grandmother. Her grandmother would feed her anything she wanted. Cookies, cakes, ice cream, hot dogs, and many other foods were given to her. This was not healthy for this little girl. Her mother (I'll call her Sam*), finally noticed what was going on, so she took Jessica back to her house.

Sam worked two jobs to support herself and her brother. Jessica was too young to know what was going on, but she would ask questions like, "Where's Daddy?" Her mother would tell her that mommy and daddy were not friends anymore. But she promised that she would see her daddy again soon.

As time went by, Sam made her brother watch Jessica while she was at work. But what nobody knew was that Sam's brother was molesting Jessica. She was only 4 years old when this happened. So she didn't know that it was wrong. She was too young to tell her mother because she was scared that it would be her fault.

Four years went by and Jerry* (Sam's brother) would continue to molest Jessica. She was 8 years old now, and still too afraid to tell her mother. But one day Jessica's luck changed. It was summertime, and she was able to go to her grandparent's house on her dad's side to visit. She ended up staying for about 2 weeks, and she finally worked up the courage to tell her grandparents that her uncle Jerry was molesting her.

Jessica's grandfather alerted the Child Protection Services, and she was placed in the care of her father, where she should have been in the first place.

To this day, Jessica still remains with her dad. She is 11 years old now, and is seeing a therapist to help her cope with what happened to her as a child. Jerry is now serving 25 years in jail for the molestation of his own niece.
