I don't want to spend eternity living in Heaven. "Why not", you ask? Well, I live there right now! What I mean is, I live in the Lord, and dwell with Him where He is (in high places).
You see, the world around us (pastors, news people, politicians, grocery clerks, construction workers, super models, prime ministers, valley girls, beach bums, and all the rest) will tell you, "Oh, yeah, when you die, you either go to Heaven or Hell." It's been taught for eons. I've heard Pastors say to their congregations, "We know our dearly departed is in Heaven right now, and probably looking down and smiling." If that were true, the Bible must be incorrect!
My Bible tells me that the Messiah is preparing a place for us (believers). The same Bible also states that when our earthly bodies are dead, our spirits go to be with Abraham in the place of waiting. What are all the spirits waiting for? The trumpet. It doesn't say that we go to Heaven and do odd jobs until that time has come. It doesn't say that He judges us upon our separation from the body, and then welcomes us into Heaven, one by one. It says we are asleep until the trumpet blows! Some people look at me funny when I say these things. But the truth should set them free. So, I will press on with the truth.
A lot of people use the quote from Yehowshua (when He was on the cross and speaking to the thief on one side), where He promised, "today, you shall surely be with me in Paradise" as meaning: when we die, we go to Heaven that instant.
This is not a supportive verse for that scenario. Since, as the Bible teaches, when we die we are asleep, and since, as Science reveals, time stops for the dead because they are separated from this realm and their bodies (which are subjected to the effects of planetary rotation and gravity). When you hear the trumpet blast to go and meet the Messiah in the clouds (as the Bible teaches) you are quickened to life again, and thus AWAKE one moment after dying (no matter how long you've been dead).
So, the thief, after dying on the cross and separating from his body, went to sleepy land (in the bosom of father Abraham), and when the trumpet blows to signal our exit from this earth, it will still be TODAY for him. Get it? That's why I always say, "The best thing to say to a dying brother or sister (in the Lord) is-See you in a moment."
The Bible also says that "Heaven and Earth shall pass away" and there will be a "new Heaven and a new earth!" No one ever speaks about the new earth! Is it because
