How to protect a child from the sun

brimmed hat at the front and flap at the back protects both the face and neck. Your baby should be used to wearing a hat outdoors to keep them cooler and protected from sun damage.

Clothing for kids between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., of all ages is essential for sun protection even in the water. Cotton clothing in light colors offers the best protection although some Lycra mixed fabrics are supposed to offer protection also.

Sunglasses for the eyes must be shielded from the sun's rays and children should wear sunglasses that block out the damaging UVA and UVB rays by 100 percent. The cheaper versions of sunglasses will harm your child's eyes instead of conforming to safety standards for eye wear. The sunglasses must state on the packaging that they comply and only deal with brand names not the no name brands.

Aloe Vera Gel For Sun Burn:

You can apply Aloe Vera Gel liberally on redness or sunburn to heal the skin almost over night. Get organic brands and with no additives for healing a burn at a health food store which also offer non-chemical sunscreen.

It is more important that ever for parents to be educated and diligent to prevent sun damage which can lead to skin cancer especially in all climates during the summer months.
