Stories abound regarding people who have been cheated by auto body shop organisations and the last thing anyone would want is to be part of those statistics. Thus, how can this be avoided? In reality, there are a number of ways to reduce the possibility of being cheated.
Firstly, one should look for an organisation that is appropriately qualified, both in terms of the business itself and its employees. Accreditation of the business to automobile associations should be displayed in the business offices. As far as the actual employees are concerned, do not hesitate to ask for proof of qualification. Similarly, if it is a dedicated car manufacturers body shop, ensure they have the manufacturer recommendation and have undergone training with that manufacturer. One point to remember is to check that the training certificates are current and not several years previously.
Recommendation is another way to avoid problematical body shops. If people known to you have used an organisation and are satisfied, there is a good chance that you will be. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising because personal advice can usually be relied upon.
If you are still unsure about your choice of body shop organisation, do not be afraid to check them out with your local trading standards and consumers associations, to ascertain if there have been any complaints lodged against the organisation in question.
To ensure that you are not cheated by an auto body shop, do your homework. Check them out and ensure they are qualified for the task you require.
