As he walked towards her,
a smile gave him away.
He was confident and cool,
and he knew what she'd say.
Yes, she blessed the night
and the stars, they shone so bright
when he took her hand
and led her to the dance floor,
that magical land.
It lasted just one song,
but he held her close
and just how high she soared,
only heaven knows.
He spun her 'round, and the music lost its sound.
Flying free from sorrow, they danced like no one else was there,
as if the mem'ry would be shared.
She knew that he
felt only half of what she wished.
But at least he cared enough
to give her this.
