ARE YOU A VICTIM OR A SURVIVOR -
If you are reading this article, you are a Survivor and you can only be a Survivor, if you were once a Victim.
Everyone has been a Victim to something at some point in their lives. And people have to understand that there are never any two circumstances that are identical, but the fundamental reasoning is. Victims are chosen on their strengths, and not their weaknesses. It is however truly unfortunate that some do not survive the ordeal and my heart reaches out to those lost. But there is nothing that we can do for those that did not survive, . . . except build on the strengths that they once had, . . . and use that knowledge to survive our own ordeal.
Two of the strengths that I see as a survivor are belief in self and absolute compassion. These are NORMAL human character traits that are lacking in those seeking victims. These are our true strengths. For these, you must take pride in being a wonderful human being. For these STRENGTHS, will forever remain with us, but never with the ones who caused the victimization in the first place.
Two of the weaknesses that I see as a Survivor are our desire to compassionately move on by acceptance and forgiving what is lacking by means of the very real character flaws in the person who caused the situation. To be a true Survivor, you have to realize first and foremost, that this was not by any fault of your own.
Being a Victim is not by choice. Being a SURVIVOR is by choice. Make the right choice, and always remember, that you are never alone. There are so many of us out there, there are so many resources available for assistance, there are so many others that have walked that road before you and can and will help. We are now bound with the recognition of our strengths that took us to that horrific ordeal in the first place and we can, and we will, move on.
Since all Survivors were at once Victims, . . . we are all there to help for the rest of our days on this earth. Just remember, first and foremost, you weren't the first, you weren't the last, and the rest of us are always there to help you through to survive and lead as healthy, happy and as normal life as possible for the rest of your days.
You are NEVER truly alone and you can overcome being the Victim and live as a Survivor and use your own ordeal to eventually assist others by living well, by getting out of whatever unhealthy situation you were in, . . . and all of us will be bound by the instinct to Survive and help one another through, . . . by belief in self, . . . and by compassion for humanity, . . . forever.
