What Makes a Man?
A man is not made from the money he earns,
nor even from the basic principles he's learned.
He can't be developed from how skillful he fights,
or from strengths he's gained to overcome plights.
His masculine form won't build his being,
for muscles and hair are only for seeing.
The woman he's conquered won't make him grow,
his virility and lust are only for show.
A trade he's mastered helps guide his life,
but it's a heart of gold that lands him a wife.
Compassion and empathy allow him to love,
it must be those traits that lift him above.
