Here I shall write both the reasons religion does not 'exist', and also, why it is a good thing to believe in.

Religion was created like time. That is to say, it was created by people to explain the world around them, and control the actions of other people. Of course, this is where the smart rise above the strong, even in primitive societies. You could have all the muscle in the world but if you believed someone was 'holy' you'd do anything they say. Of course, history repeats it's self and although society itself has come alone way, we as people are still of the primitive mind and body we were back when humans only existed on the plains of Africa. In fact, if anything, we have gone backwards, but that's not our topic for today.

Therefore, things like God and miracles do exist but not as religion describes them, it's more of a mental thing. God is more an adjective, or at least, and umbrella term for anything that is done in good will. Things like giving to charity or even holding a door open for someone could be described in this way when compared to not doing these things.

Today's science is yesterday's religion. Many people now, although 'educated' beyond belief in any religion per Se, still need some sort of 'guidance'. Most people are incapable of making their own choices in life. So much so that I know people who eat 5 fruit a day because an advert on television said that's what you should do. Which I find to just be a strange take on Muslims praying 5 times a day. But the point is clear. People who sound like they know what they are talking about get listened to. I have first hand experience of watching people make the same mistakes over and over again but won't take advice from a friend as they aren't an 'authority'. I think it is basic human nature for most people to follow the few who claim such authorities.

By this I don't mean, give up your religion or healthy lifestyle. Because, you may just be letting someone else tell you what to do and believe, but at least it makes you happy.

Think about what makes you happy, are you fit and healthy? do you have a stable relationship? maybe a great career or even successful children. It's just the same for the religious.

Religion brings hope to those with nothing, and power to those with everything.

So in conclusion, don't waste this life. Don't allow it to be destroyed in the hope of a better 'afterlife', and don't do what someone else thinks to be the best way to lead your life. Enjoy what you want to enjoy and you'll feel much better for it. If you are religious, that's great, it brings people closer together and pushes them to be better people. If your not religious, the world is your oyster...
