Poetry: Mourning

by Debbie Kerr

Created on: June 02, 2008

Tears

Tears are streaming
across the bus window,
the sky has declared
at last it has earned
the right to cry.

Forming brooks and rivers,
their icy splatters
merge and separate
and I, a simple observer,
ache with unexplained sadness,
my eyes filling
with hot, burning tears
long suppressed.
