Traveler
This is everything I know.
It's unnerving to leave the landscape
we were born to,
yet I've traveled a great
distance to be near you.
It has taken years to learn
to love, and now that I can love,
there's no turning back,
I've broken through.
If you leave, I'll throw gifts
in your wake, if you say no,
I'll say yes, if you refuse,
I'll accept each refusal
as a blessing on my arrival.
My other self, the one who walks
behind me, whispers incessantly,
like rain, I have traveled a great
distance to be near you.

I'm trying so hard to move on,
I'm trying to just forget
