It's the timeless trio; Disney, princesses, and little girls! The three of them go together perfectly, and are definitely seen all over the world. So if you're facing a little princess who only wants a perfect Disney princess themed bedroom, here are a few tips to make the task easier.
Walls
The walls of any room can be decorated in a huge assortment of styles. Disney princess themes can be carried out with wallpaper, boarder paper, wall stickers, or paint. Depending on your budget and specific needs, any of the choices may be appropriate.
Wallpaper can have a few drawbacks, though. It can be expensive, short-lived, difficult to apply, difficult to remove, and difficult to keep clean. Wallpaper and boarder paper also seem to be magnets to sticky fingers that are dying to peel something from a wall.
So if you prefer wallpaper, it's worth the time and money to invest in a better quality themed paper than a rather cheap one. If you need to stick to a budget, use paint to freshen up and tie together the theme. Skip plain white and use something to match the decor chosen. With a Disney princess theme you're probably going to need some paint in pink, purple, or cream.
Wall stickers are a fun, quick, and cheap way to give the illusion of themed wallpaper. Buy 8-10 wall sticker packets and make your own boarder on the top of the bedroom wall. You can also use just a few wall stickers to help accent doors, windows, or just as a cute center decoration on a plain wall. Pick up a Belle picture from Beauty and the Beast or a Cinderella picture from, obviously, Cinderella.
Furniture
Furniture should always be considered carefully, themed or plain. The most important thing is the stability and safety of the piece. You want the bed, desk, and dresser to be solid, not easily knocked over. You want everything to have large enough parts to prevent an possible choking in case any very young children live in the home.
Basic furniture sets can be quickly transformed into Disney princess themed furniture with some paint and ribbons. You can paint furniture solid colors, or use stenciled designs. Ribbons can be tied to bed posts, around chairs, or on curtains to help add the frilly touch.
If you're able to go all out, try a beautiful Disney princess themed canopy princess bed with matching bedding. A princess vanity is always a perfect touch, especially if it comes with a Disney Princess makeup play set! There are desks, dressers, chairs and toy boxes covered with Disney princess images.
