Sea Pines Resort Hilton Head- Traveler Review
The Sea Pine Resort at Hilton Head is home to the PGA Heritage of Golf, was our first choice for our girl's weekend of golf at the highly rated Sea Pines Resort at Hilton Head's most southern tip of the Island.
Our criteria list included: a world class golf resort, oceanfront, upscale dining, beautiful beaches, and pampering by the professional service. Not surprisingly, the sports activities also were over the top with polo, the Number 2 ranked Racquet Club in the nation and tennis courts everywhere.
The numerous amenities at the Sea Pine Resort includes: luxurious beds, fitness center, 20 pools, bicycle trails, 30 tennis courts and miles of ocean beaches did not disappoint our discerning tastes. We opted for an oceanfront condo rental for the extra spaciousness, more washrooms, and views rather than the attractive suite rooms. The butlers were attentive, and on duty 24/7 with all their attention on the guests.
The beauty of golf at the Harbor Town Golf Links, which is ranked #1 in South Carolina's Golf Digest, is the surrounding natural wonders. The Sea Pines Resort spans 605 acres which include preserved forests and the Loggerhead Turtle Walk and crab catching which was very educational. The golf courses we played were the Ocean Course which is oceanfront and was the first golf course built on Hilton Head Island. The Harbor Town Golf Course is home to the Verizon Heritage Tournament as well as the PGA golf Tour which are phenomenal courses.
The Sea Pines establishes great variety in the number of restaurant choices which were all excellent and catered to every taste from grilled seafood, sumptuous steaks, and quality finger foods. The Tartan Room starts the day with a healthy breakfast omelet, lunch at the Sun Deck Cafe for tasty snacks. The fabulous dinners at the Quarter Deck Cafe over looking the Ninth Hole and the ocean were fabulous.
After golf, we relaxed for cocktails and live music at the Quarter Deck and the variety of nighttime entertainment venues can be found in outdoor waterside cafes nearby. Sea Pine Resort has the Metropolitan Lounge which is European style warm fireplaces and cozy furnishings with an extensive line of champagne, caviar and martini lists with over 80 wines to sample in style.
The Park Plaza which is nearby is the place which joins great shopping boutiques with nightspots like the Two Eleven Park Bistro and Wine Bar and the Music and More which is a hip hop music club. Live music jams at Harbourtown and outdoor entertainment are all at The Jazz Corner and Village at Wexford has concerts of great nightly music under the stars.
The week of golf for the girls was not only relaxing but renewed our spirits and if you're into a high end golf vacation head to the Hilton Head's Sea Pine Resort.
