Poetry: Windows

by Michelle Jones

Created on: June 01, 2008

I look out of my window, but what do I see?
Is the world beautiful or some hellish place?
When I look out of my window, all I see is, houses and more houses.

I look out of my window, but what do I see?
I see black clouds, covering my heart,
Suffocating my mind, stopping me from writing.

I look out of my window, but what do I see?
I see children bored, playing in the back alley,
Amounting to nothing, living in their parents shadow.

I look out of my window, but what do I see?
I see washing lines, crammed with old clothes,
A perception of their owners lives.

I look out of my window, but what do I see?
My self staring back at me, thinking what are you doing?
Stop looking out of your window, wishing that you had a life,
Get out of the house, do it for your self.
