Poetry: On love

Hello to you, light that I see
Not too hot, not too bright
I can visualize everything clearly
Nothing is unknown to your light, and my sight

Be the twinkle in my eye
You will outshine the stars in the sky
You are the eyes to my ears to illuminate the world
You are the eyes to my touch to let my fingers uncurl

You are my smell and my taste
All my worries and doubts, erased
When I see your face

But I've seen a face like yours before
Seen the light many times more
They were a brightness of a different kind
Not just the light of the world, but mine

When a light vanishes, I'm left in the dark
Left to wait and hope to see another spark
I don't know when you'll go, just let me hold you tight
When you go, take my heart but don't take my sight

Take my happiness away with the light
And for that time later, I must now say this right

Don't let me tell you
That I love you
Tonight
