Blood, Undone
I dreamt a dream of crimson robes
For a deep, blood-like red it showed.
And in this dream I drank a drink.
It was a clear, transient liquid I think.
A borrowed gift from a man in black,
So smooth and satisfying, I felt no lack.
For I loved it much and could not get enough.
Once I tipped the pitcher, my hands were stuck.
He told me it was the wine of life.
I felt my problems vanish, burying my strife.
I drank and drank, and as I drank more
The liquid upon my robes it began to pour.
The crimson faded, turning red to white.
The ground lifted beneath me, giving me great height.
More and more gathered as white continually won,
And a great cheer rose up when the process was done.
I felt satisfied in the glow of glory and light
But as I removed the pitcher, perfect was not right.
The red grew back, spreading all throughout
Once I removed the luscious liquid from my mouth.
The ground beneath me began to fall.
And the watchers turned away back down the halls.
As glory left me, I was sad and in despair.
Though I felt something deeper, which easily repaired.
But the man in black lingered across the room.
Like a hawk on a mouse, his presence loomed.
I was happy now, though I missed the drink like my brother.
The man in black called, he said, "Care for another?"

What if God Called in Sick?
What if God wasn't feeling good
And didn't want to be bothered today.
What if He was just fed
Imagine life without a child's laughter
How boring would that be
Imagine life without a child's dream
How depressing would
I imagined my life without you:
Where would I go? What would I do?
Would I spend many nights alone,
Or would I soon find someone
