I have seen many things in my life
I've survived struggle and strife
Twenty years of hurt and pain
Things I know I may do again
I'm not proud of all that I've done
Some things were all in fun
Still, in all of this I have only one regret
I never truly learned to forget
So many times I should forgive
I couldn't even let myself live
I want to remember all that we shared
But reliving the hurt I can not bear
Not the pain of you walking away
But the pain of everything I did not say
So much left unsaid as you passed away
My regret was born and revealed that day
If I could have just one more day
Maybe I could love that regret away
It all comes down to just one thing
Sorrow is what my memories bring
If I can never ever forget
I may never move past this regret
