Morning in the meadow
As nature wakes I quietly watch
A special time I take
Wake up early don't want to be late I love to watch nature wake
From where I sit I hear the breeze gently blowing through the evergreens
The rustling sound of pine needles falling on the ground
Softly I close my eyes and simply listen to Nature, such sacred sound
The animals begin to rise leaving their grassy beds to stretch and gently shake
Time to walk in the meadow time to run and play to plan the meal for today
Others have hunted all night and have refreshed by the lake
For them it is time to rest and find a comfortable place
So simple is morning in the meadow
The creek is rushing downstream to find it's mother land
Fresh from the winter melt
Providing life for all to enjoy rushing over the rocks this and that way
Pooling in low spots to provide a natural place to enjoy the blessing of the water
Chipmunks being to scurry around collecting items making a happy sound
Excited to shake their tail in the breeze I smile as they climb the evergreen trees
Standing on the branches balancing in beauty to watch morning in the meadow
A butterfly lands on the deck I watch silently the colorful delicate wings before me
The antenna searching for safety such a beautiful pose to see
Gently it lifts off and returns to the sky so graceful and filled with beauty
The aspen leaves glisten in the sun from the early dew
Reach to the heavens to feel the warmth and so gently move
Creating brush strokes on natures canvas against the sky
Back and forth gently this and that way painting the story of nature this day
Clouds in the sky quietly float by no sound just peaceful shapes
Slowly moving across the landscape soft cotton balls all sizes all shapes quietly, silently, gently begin the day
Morning in the meadow gentle quiet
So small am I in this massive beauty this gift of life for all to see
