Your little princess wants a princess bedroom, but not just any princess will do - it must be a Disney princess bedroom. There is no reason to be overwhelmed, it is much easier than one might think. And, it can be done on a budget - even a tight budget. Once the specific Disney princess (or princesses) is decided upon, there are three basic decorating areas to focus on when creating a princess bedroom. These are wall decorations, bedroom furniture and the room accents.
Deciding what to with the walls is possibly the most difficult of all decisions. Wallpaper? Paint? Wall stickers? These can be daunting tasks. They each have their good and bad points. Of course, what you choose is entirely up to you. You must decide what will work best for you and your little princess.
With wall paper, the Disney princess theme is already prepared for you. There is no need to try to paint a mural, worry if the lines are straight and if everything is centered correctly. However, wallpaper must be put up and, later, taken down. These can be a daunting tasks. It is time consuming and, sometimes, back breaking work. Even with the advances that have been made in recent years to make this easier, you (or your decorator) still have to do the physical labor yourself and make sure there are no little bubbles under the wallpaper.
The possibilities with paint are almost endless. You can choose a pre-mixed color (Disney-themed colors are available at many different places) or have your local paint/hardware store match that perfect shade you selected. You can also use different colors as accents or go with one color on one wall as an accent wall or on all the walls. As with wallpaper, you or your decorator will have to paint. This, too, can be time-consuming and difficult work. Don't forget about cleaning all the brushes and the drying time. Accidents can and do happen, so be sure to have handy all the products you will need to clean up any spills and are safe for surfaces you are cleaning.
Disney-themed wall stickers have become quite popular recently. They are fairly easy to put up. Deciding where you want them, making sure they are straight and without bubbles are the most difficult aspects of using wall stickers. Taking them down when you little princess becomes a queen in training (young woman) may not be as easy as you would like. Though easier to remove than regular stickers, you must still be careful not to damage the walls.
Furniture for the princess bedroom can be expensive, if you
