Understanding the MLM Industry
Okay, I want to start out by saying that in order to understand how successful a MLM (multilevel marketing) business can be, you need to first understand that it really is only network marketing. In fact, most MLM businesses now call themselves network marketing companies because of the bad rap MLM's previously received. Network marketing is not a pyramid scheme as a lot of people tend to think. Pyramid schemes are illegal, network marketing or MLM's are not.
First off, MLM's/network marketing companies help you to build a residual' income, which basically allows you to earn money without having to do anything. You duplicate, you network, you work a system that after you've trained others to do as you do, you can take a vacation and find that when you return, you have made money. MLM got a bad rap because you always heard the bad stuff. Newspapers sell on bad news and the very letters - MLM made so many people wary that as I said, many changed their name to network marketing. Same thing, just a different name. All MLM's will have their own system. The key is to use their system. It was designed only for that company and that product, but it works on just about any MLM company. Too many people try to "reinvent the wheel," only to find failure, rather than success. You must believe in what you are doing. You must work and work the system!
Finding the Best MLM
In every MLM company there are those who do not do well and end up dropping out of the game altogether. The best MLM company is the one that stays in business. Unfortunately, more than 85% of MLM companies go belly-up in the first five years. So, find one that has been in business at least this long and you have made a good start to finding the best MLM business to be in. The hottest and best MLM companies today are those that employ technology, distributor services, and innovative management to ensure long-term growth and stability.
Generally, you should avoid startups and try to find a company that has a well-developed distribution network, advanced distributor support, prospecting videos, training programs, and sophisticated programs that allow for international expansion and product diversification. A mature company will offer these things. One of the first rules in finding the best MLM to be in, is to go with the facts - not the hype. Before you sign on with any company, ask yourself, "Can I sell this product?" Now think carefully. You must be passionate about the product and believe in it. The best products for the business tend to be those that you cannot find at your local store. Once you have fully investigated the MLM companies and narrowed down your search, decide on one company and "go to work!" Stay focused on that one company. If, of course, you made an educated choice, you will succeed. If you go into a MLM business using your head and not from greed or stupidity, you will have a solid chance of succeeding.
