What is worse: To eat at McDonald's or work there?
It's a fact that McDonald's is a fast food restaurant and at fast food restaurants you're expected to find foods that are high in fat and cholesterol, and are likely not good for you. With this knowledge people still go to McDonald's to eat. I don't think eating or working at McDonald's is truly bad. In my opinion McDonald's is not the most nutritious place to eat, but when time is limited, eating at McDonald's serves its purpose. McDonald's is trying to bring healthier foods to its menu. They have stared to cook the French fries in canola oil to avoid the Trans fat. If you go and eat at McDonald's try ordering something lower in fat and cholesterol. Instead of ordering a hamburger, fries and a soda, try ordering a Caesar salad with Newman's own fat Balsamic vinaigrette dressing, with a low fat milk and a Fruit n yogurt for desert. A kid's happy meal with four piece chicken Mcnuggets, apple dippers with low fat dip and an apple juice is a nutritious meal.
Working at McDonald's is not an appealing job, but it is not a terrible job either. When I was sixteen, I worked at McDonald's. I worked three to eleven, two days a week. I worked at the register and it wasn't easy trying to fill three orders at the same time but I got the hang of it. Also I had the job of washing the floors and cleaning the grill because I worked until closing. I admit most of the time it was not pleasant but I was happy to have a job. I worked at McDonald's until my senior year in high school. I saved my money and eventually I bought my own car. My sister and cousins' first jobs were at McDonald's. After a few years my cousin became a manager. A lot of high school and college kids work at McDonald's, it gives them work experience.
I remember my brother in-law announcing that my nephew would not be eating the garbage they serve at McDonald's. Three years after that announcement my nephew was a frequent customer at McDonald's. Fast forward thirteen years and now my nephew is an employee at McDonald's. He is also saving his money to buy a car.
It's hard to escape from this established corporation in the pop world today. Fast food restaurants whether the food is good or bad for us has earned its place in the world today. Because our live are so fast paced, that a restaurant such as McDonald's is a convenient and cheap place to eat. With the harsh economy and people getting laid off from their jobs, many people don't have a choice but to work at McDonald's. The question of whether it is worse to eat or work at McDonald's depends on personal preference.
