If I Gave In
If I would give you now all you could want,
Would you accept the offer or reject?
And if I gave so willingly at once,
Would I thereafter still have your respect?
This quandary is for now my great dilemma.
Unsure in your affections where I stand;
At once I wish to give you sweet surrender,
Yet fear you may abuse the upper hand
So before I take this in the wrong direction,
I thought that I would ask you how you feel.
To you, is this a momentary passion,
Or something that could be much more than real?
And if I cannot be there now will you wait til I return?
I'd like to see if this will go the way I hope it might.
But if I'm no competition for more immediate concerns
I'd rather you just say so, and I'll save myself the fight.

I don't want to like you
Did you hear what I said?
I shouldn't like you

Our eyes meet and our hands touch,
Our time we give, but a secret is must stay,
You give your love
