Regret is such an awkward thing
To think "what if?" is hard
The angst of loss, the death of hope
Make fuel for every bard
"I wish I could, I know I can't"
Pain haloes such a phrase
"I know I can't, I know I should"
Is worse, in many ways
Regret is looking back and thinking
"What could life have been?"
Regret is seeing just too late
