What's with the big deification of the late James Brown? OK, he was a talented musician ... if you dig his kind of music ... and his funky stage movements inspired the likes of Michael Jackson. Everyone is sad at his death, except maybe for the current wife, whose legal marital status is iffy, and who was locked out of the house by a squad of lawyers immediately after Brown died. To put it mildly, The Godfather of Soul wasn't a nice guy. He went to jail for various crimes, including beating one or more of the women he married and/or lived with. His rap sheet is long and detailed with drug, alcohol and other serious criminal charges. James Brown was a famous pop musician of his time. So were Nero and Henry VIII. And Hitler was a great paperhanger. It may be inappropriate to speak ill of the recently deceased, but are there any other James Brown dis dissenters out there?
