Guide to dining in Naples, Florida

Naples, Florida is the seafood lovers dream come true. Fresh jumbo shrimp, scallops, soft shell blue crab and so many more are brought in, fresh daily, to local restaurants from the fishing boats. Whether you enjoy your favorite dish on the menu or decide to try something new, your dining experience will be spectacular while you look out on the white sands and gentle surf right outside the window.

RIVERWALK FISH AND ALE HOUSE

Considered to be the best seafood restaurant in Naples, Riverwalk Fish and Ale House located in "Tin City," a name given to the waterfront marketplace. It offers waterfront dining for lunch and dinner as well as a late afternoon "raw bar." You'll enjoy the indoor decor of planked floors, old photos and ship artifacts. Have a delicious lunch and enjoy walking and shopping in Old Naples.

Riverwalk offers a large selection of salads including gulf shrimp, jerk seared salmon and blackened yellow finned tuna. The dish you won't want to miss is Riverwalk Jumbalaya. It's filled with shrimp, scallops, crawfish, mussels, grouper, ham and andouille sausage it's truly at the top of the "gulf" cuisine. Open 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, except Friday and Saturday, 11:00 to Midnight.

CAFFE DELL'AMORE

With a name like Naples, the town is actually named after Naples, Italy, you couldn't leave the area without trying the best Italian restaurant in the area, Caffe dell'Amore. This 14 table authentic Italian restaurant with a menu of fresh, locally grown vegetables and imported Balsamic Vinegar from Modena, Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, Italian meats and cheese flown in daily.

The couple that own and run this restaurant are from Italy. This restaurant was voted the "most beautiful dining room in Florida." A patron remarked, "I'm from Italy, so I know a real Italian kitchen. Where I feel most at home when in Naples is Caffe dell'Amore it reminds me of Caffe Florian in my hometown of Venice." She suggests the Lasagna ala Bolognese as the best she's ever tasted.

SWEET CAROLINE'S

A party room and outdoor seating are offered and is open seven days a week for dinner, lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am and Sunday Brunch from 9:30 am. With a motto like "It's all about the ingredients," you know Sweet Caroline's uses only the freshest, best quality food to make it's dishes. This is both a bakery and sandwich shop run by the owners. You'll find healthy sandwiches and salads, sugar free and fat free baked goods as well to keep you on the straight and narrow during your vacation. But, you can also be indulgent with yourself by trying one of the many freshly baked cookies, or one of the thirty different types of muffins.

This is one of those eateries that you might otherwise miss in a town such as Naples full of restaurants. It's a wonderful choice for grabbing a box lunch and heading for the boat or the beach for the day. This is a local's secret that visitors won't want to miss.

NAPLES PRINCESS CRUISE

For the best seafood dinner on a cruise, you must try Naples Princess cruise. Enjoy the Naples Bay with the orange hues of the sun setting on the salt water and the playful dolphins. While maneuvering the ship, the Captain will direct you to the many sites of interest. The cruise line also offers a lunch cruise and another to Marco Island. Dining couldn't be more fun that gliding along on one of Florida's most elegant yachts.

The 149 person yacht is spacious. Many have requested it for wedding and anniversary parties. In fact, through their reputation, the Naples Princess has become one of the top choices for events in all of Naples.
