Reflections: My beliefs

What do we believe and why do we believe it? We are taught by those around us as we grow up -this is a square - this is a circle. God does not exist. God absolutely exists. Organized religion is necessary. Unorganized religion has the answers.
As we mature, we find some things we are taught are truth and others are misinformation passed on to us by those who have had it given to them.

So, if we are each "The River of Life" and we surface here on earth for a short time. (out of the earth-back to the earth - but each with "our unique soul") We are born....the spring burst from the earth.
We will flow. Some of us will be big rivers that are added to and gain power. While others have people digging canals and funneling off their strength.
Some of us will construct dams....we will try to control our rivers and throw rocks in other people's rivers until we create dams and problems for them that they don't need nor want.
So what if we're start today at the headwaters where the water bubbles out of the ground, so pure, so fresh. We look out and think of the journey ahead. We try to prepare but we really don't know the storms ahead, nor the dams, nor what other rivers will join with our to make a greater river, nor those who will pull away our strength by digging ditches so our strength is decreased. If we fight upstream against a rocky undercurrent, every foothold takes on a kind of urgency.
Will we be pure? Will we be toxic and full of poison? Will we be cold and icy or warm and healing? Will we be stagnant and dirty or pure and oxygenated? Will we be a short river and dry up or a long and flowing one? Will we be a calm easy flowing stream or a roaring, tumbling river?
What will we do?
We can get a sense of who we are and the direction we're going. We don't live lies nor other people's expectations but are true to our purpose here.
We can choose to use our time here to help and give strength to those we touch or come in contact with.
We grow and learn....we become a mighty river....as people throw stones we use them for purification purposes. We are told that struggles make us stronger and build character.
As time passes we become a mighty flow of water that creates energy.
Eventually, we finish our journey. We make it to the ocean. What we have brought with us now flows into the ocean of those before us and those yet to be...
the circle of life...the flow of the universe....the gift:
The River of Me
