Guide to seasonal weather in Scottsdale, Arizona

When most people hear Arizona, they think of a hot, empty, boring landscape. Well, think again. Scottsdale, Arizona happens to be one of the top vacation spots, with a beautiful natural setting, enjoyable climate, and wide array of activities to do. This growing city boasts a wealthy community and extensive resorts, which show off it's amazing architecture and rich background in western culture.

One of Scottsdale's main attractions are its hundreds of golf courses, each of which offer different scenery and challenges. While the guys are off enjoying some excellent golf time, the women will be more than satisfied with the luxury spas. Don't worry about the kids, because they'll be enjoying themselves by the pool, or enjoying many of the other fun children activities. If it is family fun you are looking for, Scottsdale has much to offer, with such activities including hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and even hot air balloon rides!

So what time is ideal to take a trip to Scottsdale? Depending on how hot you like it, anytime is a good time. The summer's can get fairly warm, with daily highs usually exceeding 100 degrees. This makes outdoor water sports such as rafting or swimming quite enjoyable. During the night it becomes very pleasant, with lows dipping into the 70s, perfect for enjoying the extensive nightlife available. With a location that is just miles from Phoenix, there is always something to do, even at night.

Temperatures stay on the high side until about November, until they dip into the 70s. This is still perfect weather for enjoying all of your favorite outdoor activities. You can go fishing by day, and enjoy fine dinning and shopping by night. The Spring's temperatures mirror those of the fall, making it a desirable escape from winter's grip. There's nothing better than going from cold and rainy, to warm and sunny, enjoying a nice game of golf.

The winter months are still fairly mild, with highs reaching well into the 60s. It can become chilly at night however, with lows dipping into the 30s. Still, Scottsdale's winter conditions are much more desirable than much of the country's. The cooler temperatures allow for more vigorous outdoor activities, such as biking or rock climbing (don't worry, you can still play your golf or relax at a spa). Also during the winter months, such sporting events as the Fiesta Bowl are held in close by cities.

With it's prime location in Arizona, Scottsdale is a fairly dry region receiving less than 10 inches of rain each year. While there is little rain each month, the driest months by far are the Spring months. There is not a great threat of major storms in the area, so your vacation should be great no matter when you plan it for. Despite the lack of rain, there are still numerous man-made lakes in the area that offer a chance to enjoy some water sports.

While anytime of the year should be great for taking a trip to Scottsdale, the Spring and late Fall months are probably the most ideal, with temperatures perfect for enjoying all that Scottsdale has to offer. This travel destination is certainly an excellent choice for your next vacation.
