Fundamentalism in Christianity today reflects the Christians of previous times.
The Christian two generations ago trusted and lived his life in accordance with God's
written word. This Christian not only knew, but obeyed God. This Christian represented
a generation that had been groomed in God's light. Though this generation had fallen at
times where all men fall, early on they got it right. Surely if one can recall those who
exist or existed two generations ago, that one will find honor and pride.
To understand God's love for us in His universe, the Christian must understand
that God sent His son to live, die then live forever more. Jesus is our savior from
condemnation under God's law. Jesus is love and the only gateway to eternal life. Under
God's covenant for all who live, Jesus has saved us from death and the grave. The
Christian two generations ago knew that the only way to God was to follow Jesus.
Nicodemus asked "How can a man be born again?" He clearly did not understand. The
Word of God was "born again" with the teachings of Jesus. Today's Christian should
remember to Trust God and follow Jesus.
The fundamental beliefs of yesterday's Christian provided comfort and
knowledge of the Holy Spirit. The Gospels of the New Testament introduce the Holy
Spirit. If one were to ponder upon his conscience, that one will find the Holy Spirit.
Christ intentionally left His spirit on earth as a guide. If one would meditate on the
beauty of His love or the depth to which He cares for human unworthiness, the Holy
Spirit will eventually overwhelm that person.
The Christian two generations ago understood that the wages of sin is death. This
Christian imitated Christ. This resulted in him following God's original law. Christ's
feature commandment instructs human beings to love one another as He loves us.
However Christ urges human beings to keep God's commandments. Previous Christians
rose above the call and excelled in living life for God.
Jesus intercedes for all who live but He plays another critical role. His name
alone weakens evil. Jesus battles satan for us. He protects us. The enemy comes to seek,
kill, and destroy. Jesus is the Shepard to humanity who is sheep like. The enemy
is a wolf. Earlier Christians trusted Christ. They were not easily led astray, manipulated,
and devoured by the wolf.
The fundamentalist ideas of previous times are thoughts that should be repeated
vigorously today. The generations are becoming weaker and wiser. Today's generation
should not allow liberal ideas cause it to find conflict in God's written word. The
accounts are truth. The knowledge is guidance. The serenity is healing. Today's
generation must trust the whole Bible from beginning to end. This would delight the
Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ whom is Alpha and Omega.
