I wrote this article a couple of months ago and it has slipped from Number 1 to the bottom of the list. I am not sure if it is a lack of people reading this article or if people disagree with the answer I have given. Let's just say, for argument's sake, in Metaphorical terms ~
Hypothetically, let's say that you have a friend that drives like and idiot, rude, offensive, bordering on wreckless. He or she has had several accidents as a result of this careless behavior. Would you feel comfortable paying their higher insurance premiums out of your pocket or paying for the damages to others vehicles yourself as a result of their intentional disregard for the welfare of others. I would imagine that you would say NO in no uncertain terms. WELL, cigarette smoking is the single most cure-able cause of Heart Disease, Lung Disease, Cancer, lip cancer, esophageal cancer, cancer of the larynx and many other problems. These are not statements that I just made up. 45 years of accredited research has given me the information I needed to make these statements! Smoking related illnesses are on the rise and soon lung cancer as a result of smoking will surpass Heart Disease as the number 1 killer in America!
Smokers are the cause of their own illness and I do not feel that I should have to pay for it! In the end it is up to you to decide, are you willing to pay double on your Health Insurance Premiums to pay for a smokers knowing and willing right to commit suicide the hard way? It is your choice ...
I do believe that a smoker should bear the responsibility for medical costs that are relevant to smoking. I smoked for 14 years and due to an incident while in the military I contracted Tuberculosis in the South Pacific. I became violently ill and subsequently spent the next 2 years in Hospital and Medical Hold before being discharged. I quite smoking immediately after the diagnosis. The disease had nothing to do with my smoking. Wrong place at the wrong time was the culprit. But it gave me a radical and nearly fatal wake up call. Your lungs are your life connection to Oxygen. Without them you are as good as dead! I am now acutely and sometimes violently allergic to chemicals and substances that were prevalent in the contraction and development stages of the disease. It happened in 1983 in the Philippines. And I am very allergic to cigarette smoke now. To the point that second hand smoke can actually cause me go into a temporary pulmonary seizure. I simply stop breathing!
Next is panic
