US elections 2008: Al Gore and the burden of history

Keep in mind the US elections of 2008 are not over yet. The burden of history will show that Al Gore will have done more for the nation and the world out of government than he could have done in government.

Al Gore was Vice President to President Bill Clinton from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001. He had been in the House of Representatives from 1977-1985, and served in the Senate from 1985-1993 for Tennessee. The term with President Clinton marked a time of prosperity for American and great influence and honor in the world. If he had become president, he might have continued promoting trade and commerce and continued the pollution model of modernity.

He attended Vanderbilt University' schools of divinity and journalism from 1971 to1972 after a short time in Vietnam. He was determined to "explore the spiritual issues that were most important to me at the time." He was a reporter for The Tennessean for five years. He saw the importance of communication early in his young adulthood. Those skills and understanding have treated him well to communicate his best known endeavor, An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary explaining the present dangers and causes of global warming.

International attention was drawn to his documentary on global warming when he and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for "efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change." Since that time he has focused on promoting knowledge of global warming, its causes and hopes for changes through many organizations. This will turn to be his greatest influence on the 2008 elections.

As we move closer to the election with discussions on issues, it will be concepts that help correct global warming, pollution, energy crisis, and food crisis issues that will help people make final decisions on their candidate for president.

The election is not over; something could happen to remove the Vice President from his office and President Bush would have to select a new Vice President. That would lift up a potential presidential candidate that had not been planned on. If this candidate understands that we are at a dead end in our system, that fuel for all nations is not available or likely to be sufficiently available to continue our ways, we could change to a retirement lifestyle and create a garden paradise that will end the world problems we created by promoting the industrial commercial economy.

The goal in life was never to be employment; we evolved into that not knowing the future. Now we see the future; and Al Gore's documentary of An Inconvenient Truth and his work on global warming and environmental issues will have been already set in people's mine when the US election of 2008 takes place. History will find that Al Gore's work out of office has influenced the elections, the nation and the world, saving us from our destructive ways.
