This is one of the funniest movies of all time. It has everything humor,Christmas,anger,love and kids. This movie has something for everyone young and old. It is about a hard working family man "Clark" played by Chevy Chase who is looking forward to getting his Christmas Bonus check more than anything in the "Whole Wide World".He plans on buying a swimmiming pool he even puts down a deposit on it. Chevy Chase is one of my favorite comedians and actor.

His family is invited to the big Christmas holiday dinner and festivities. There are the exsentic Uncle and Aunt. The Redneck cousins and there kids a little girl and boy come to visit or maybe stay. The cousin's are a hoot with their RV parked in the front yard.

The cousin "Eddy" played by Randy Quaid is so broke when the men go Christmas shopping this dad can't afford to buy anything except a big bag of kibbles for his dog. So Chevy feels sorry for them and buys the kid's presents from Santa. There is a sad scene where the little girl is looking out the window looking for Santa but she doesn't get her hopes up too much. Clark tells her all good children get presents from Santa.

Eddy goes to empty the RV crapper into the sewer and waves to the neighbors who are disgusted by this. He is smoking and throws down his cigar and boom! a big explosion occurs. The windows in the neighbor's house get broke out. Everything does crashing down and they are in shock.

Another funny scene is when they bring in the tree there is a squirrel hiding in it. It leaps out and the dog chases it all around and under the dining table and knocks off the china and crystal breaking it all over the floor.

The Aunt is hilarious with her Christmas prayer being "I pledge the Allegiance to the Flag" Everyone just takes this in stride contributing this to her old age. She brings a gift that is making weird noises that turns out to be her cat wrapped up. Another gift is leaking red fluid. Okay, that one turns out to be a jello Christmas dish.

The old Uncle sits down to drink eggnog with his host. He's smoking a big cigar and fells asleep. Everyone smells smoke,something is burning it's the christmas tree..

The cat gets forgotten in all this hustle and bustle..until it decides to play with the lights on the tree. It bites down on the wire and whoosh it goes up in flames. It got fried to a crisp. I didn't think this part was hiliously funny because I love cats but it is something that could happen.

The Christmas light display that Clark created is the only thing that saves the holiday. It is just beautiful but really bright so bright it blinds the neighbors!

Clark opens his gifts and to his horror his boss got him a subscription for a monthly jellyclub- basket.

So Clark starts yelling at the whole family. They say he is nuts!Ellen wants everyone to give up on Christmas and go home.

Then of all things Eddy decides to kidnap Clark's boss .He goes to his home , blindfolds him and brings him back to Clark. Clark tells his boss off. He let's him know how hard he worked all year long and how disappointed he is about not getting the cash bonus. The boss let him know if was all a big mistake and he will get his bonus. His boss's wife calls the cops. They arrive and the boss doesn't press charges. So everyone has a Happily ever after family style Christmas.

I never get tired of watching this movie every year. It is one of the Great ones!It can be found on DVD or VHS.
