The upcoming election has made the war in Iraq a political tennis ball for the candidates
it seems; back and forth; back and forth; with the media refereeing, and scoring the points,
passed on to uninformed, uneducated, and emotionally charged voters, to try and decipher the
true from the false. The truth is there, but you have to pay close attention, and not be
distracted by the players and the playing field, and you must keep your eye on the ball.
What is the ball? It is this issue of war. Why in the world would we really trust anyone
to tell us what is really going on in Iraq? Many of those reporting don't have a clue, or
if they do, they aren't letting on. Many are blinded by their own political agendas, or their own ignorance's, but let's face it; it is our own personal responsibility to be aware of what is going on around us; we should not have to be told what to think or how to vote.
Of late I have devoted myself to research, and it takes a lot of research to find out what is really going on in the war in Iraq. Maybe, it is due to the fact that there are a lot of things going on in Iraq. And back here at home, it seems everyone is focused on the candidate they like, verses the one they don't like; or trying to fit in what you think is Democratic or Republican; then you have the color issue; the gender factor; and then there are those lingering, religious strong-holds of abortion and gay marriage...lots of distractions. While we claim to be one nation under God, we hide behind the flag and God, and continue to wage a war that we never should have started in the first place. We can no
longer just blame it on the government. We have to take government back.
Can we not just for once, be Americans? This war began on a lie. We can't do anything about
that now, but we can come together as Americans, and educate ourselves on the real issues,
beyond party lines, and beyond all those other limits we are so use to drawing, and elect the
American that proves to be the best for our Country and the world...now.
The war in Iraq cannot be won by our soldiers. This is not a statement against them, this is
a fact. Number one, the war is a civil war being fueled by Iran, who states that until American troops are gone, it will continue to do so. The only way to win the war, is to stop allowing our men and woman, and innocents to die, allow the Iraqis to come together, and stop
interfering where we do not belong and are not really wanted. Don't take my word for it though, do some research on your own.
This is the most important issue we face as Americans, and as a Country, in this election. We
need to begin concentrating on all the other important issues as well, but as long as we are
fueling this war, financially and with American lives, we will not be able to deal with the
problems that are fast becoming just as dangerous here at home...
I plead in all sincerity, that you reflect on this war in Iraq; I also ask that you go
on line and educate yourselves with the truth; the information is out there. You can get
bits and pieces of it with various reputable news shows, but most of it is buried, so you
will need to do some digging. Remember, politics is a game, and good politicians know how
to play it well. So, when your looking for the truth, pay attention to the ball...don't be
distracted by the drama of the players and the playing field, and mostly, don't be blinded
by your own ignorance...be a responsible American. Educate yourself on the issues, and make
an intelligent decision.
