Bedroom decor: How to design a Disney Cars theme bedroom

The popular Disney movie Cars provides lots of inspiration for creative parents who may be seeking to encourage their children to sleep in their own beds. The Disney Cars theme can even be expanded in order to teach children important vehicle safety rules. It is easy to design your Disney Cars theme room even if you are on a tight budget, which is especially important these days.

There are, of course, the official Disney designed beds for toddlers and beds that resemble race cars which expand from a toddler size to twin size for approximately $300. These furnishings have matching tables, chairs, and toy boxes and cost around $30 for the table and chairs and $80 for the toy boxes depending on the style. Also available are twin sized sheets sets with the Disney Cars theme, along with various sleeping bags, pillows and bath sets.

If you are on a budget, these top dollar items can add up quickly, but you can create just as much excitement about the Disney Cars movie theme bedroom by taking just a few short cuts.

The floor: If you own your own home and it is possible to paint on the floor, you can simply paint a race track or road way along with trees, stop signs, rail road crossings, school crossings, bridges for use with the cars and truck that your child already owns. The scene can either be an imaginative scene, a recreation of the Disney Cars scenes or your own neighborhood. If you can't paint directly on the floor, you may want to consider buying one of the many race track or neighborhood themed rugs that are available or create your own by purchasing a white rug and using fabric paint to create your individual rug.

Curtains: Of course, there are Disney Cars matching curtains available however if you are on a budget, you can either purchase black and white checkered material and make your own curtains or purchase the Disney Cars themed bed sheets and spread out the usefulness of the set by using the top sheet to make curtains. You can then use the bottom sheet elsewhere in the room.

The Walls: If you can paint on your walls, your imagination is the only limitation. Consider using 3-4 inch shelving to continue the road way on the wall. The road way can run up and back down the wall onto the track on the floor and the cars can be displayed on the track that is on the wall when not in use. If you rent this may not be an option, but there are many other Disney Cars wall decorations available or you could also use part of that bottom sheet to create your own wall decorations.
