Reflections: Falling in love

Falling in love
To me falling in love is like finding an amazing pair of shoes at a half off sale. Shiny, new and exciting. You cannot wait to try them on and see how they fit. For the next couple of months all you can think about is your new pair of shoes. You wear them with every outfit possible, never wanting to be apart from them.
I confess I am a sucker for romance. Although I think my perception of what romance should be has been altered by watching to many movies like Pride & Prejudice. I still think that type of old fashion romance does exist in today's world, you just have to look a little harder.

I find myself constantly searching for my Mr. Darcy. I would love to find a man to sweep me off my feet the way Mr. Darcy does to Elizabeth.
Even though I enjoy every part of being in love I have to say that my favourite part is when it first starts. When you first start to lose control of yourself. Waiting in anticipation for the first kiss. Butterflies in your stomach bouncing around so much you feel like you might vomit, of course only in a good way. Then there is the leg curl. I am not sure if everyone will know what I am talking about when I say the leg curl so I shall explain. It's when you go to lean in for that very first kiss, your lips just touch and all the fireworks start going off all around you. Then with no warning you feel your foot lift off the ground and your leg start to curl up. Only then will you know that you are really in love.
Love can be very addicting which can be both good and bad. It is easy to lose yourself in it and if you are not careful your world can come crashing down around you. Falling in love is never the same for every person. For some it appears at the very moment they set eyes on the person of their dreams, love at first site. Others it is slower to progress and only when something big happens are they fully aware just how much they care for that person.
The only down side to love is the heart break that often follows afterwards. We all know there is the possibility of getting our heart broken, but we are still willing to take that chance because to not let yourself feel love would be like denying yourself the right to live.
Love can be very freeing, it can heal a broken heart and be the thing that brings people closer together. To me there is no better when than to just jump in feet first and see where you land. It may not always work out your first try, but that is no reason to give up. Love is a learning experience were you find out more about yourself and the people you fall in love with.
