The world versus gay people

Why do people refuse to see that the world is full of people who are different? why cant everyone see that not everyone is the same? Why does the world have such a phobia of gay people? Its not like they aren't human just like the rest of us,its not like they don't pay taxes, its not like they don't live in houses and need to eat and sleep just like normal human beings. so why then is being gay such a problem to people? why cant people just accept peoples differences? i don't see or hear of people causing riots against Ellen degeneres, you want to know why that is? this is because shes famous and makes money and people like rich people who have money and all the things that they don't have, the problem is that people are close minded and refuse to accept that some people are different from them, they refuse to see what is in from of their eyes. I have many friends that are gay and lesbian, my best friend actually established a Gay Straight Alliance at our school. I think that the gay community has just as much the right to be happy as we do. As a straight woman i do not think that a gay lifestyle is right, but i think that everyone deserves a chance at love, no matter the color of your skin or the gender that you are attracted to. everyone deserves a chance to love. i know personally that without love you have nothing, so who are we to tell people that the way that they love is wrong? we have no right to say that. i think that we need more education in the schools so that the members of society that we produce aren't as close minded as their parents and don't think that being different is an abomination. give love a chance people! for some individuals its all they have, we cant just take that from them. the way that the world thinks of people who are different is wrong and someone needs to stand up take a chance and try to make a change. the world needs someone with a will, someone who is not afraid of critics and isn't afraid to stand up for something that they think is wrong. i would like to be this person, i would like to be the one to defend my friends and make the world a friendlier place for them. i want to stop the pain and suffering that i see that my friends have to endure, i want to make the world a better place for them and not have to see them suffer through all the discrimination that i see them endure, i really don't think that is possible but i have no problem trying. impossible is not a limit, its a goal, a goal that i plan on reaching, a goal that would make the whole world a different place if we would only try.
