Poetry: Romantic pain

by Robert Rogers

Created on: May 30, 2008

You were the one who lifted my soul
You shined the light to my darkest path
You were the one who never let me go
You kept me safe from my own wrath

You was the one who was always there
You told me truth when others would lie
When you needed me most I was not there
I know it's on me, it's my fault you had to die

I'll carry that weight on my shoulders
I'll carry that shame on my soul
I'll gladly give you my place in heaven
Though I know you're there already

To bring you back, I'd turn back time
I'd walk the very depths of hell
I'd give my soul for the devil to burn
For even a single chance, I'd give it all up
