I hear it began as a soft low moan
The sound of your voice here in my home

My body starts to tremble and I cry inside
My world was shattered when you left my side

How many nights will I hear this lonesome sound
Your sweet words calling, my heart starting to pound

I hear all the memories as if to remind me
That my life with you can never again be

I then feel a fantasy hint of content
As your words echo "this is not how my love was meant"

My emotions forever a victim of torment and taunt
As hearing your whispers like a ghost they haunt

I love the good words and the echoing sighs
But when the words are harsh I die inside

The last thing you had said to me was not harsh at all
But the words were instead "I'll give you a call"

Six months and still waiting for what I don't know
Those words were the wrong words I wish I had known

I never heard you tell me how did you really feel?
And now your voice won't tell me because it isn't real

I'm hearing voices my fantasies make
Could you have really loved me or was to end our fate?

I close my eyes and find peace in what I've heard
Your voice forever with me I'll savor every word.
