Dire Necessity, A Sonnet
At loss, a soul was circling dire dreams
With eyes transfixed on what it thought was gold
A fool for this, and driven to extremes
A squandered life, a tragedy. Behold:
Quick fixes and green pastures were declared
The things to hide behind like oaken trees
Yet, fate and agony would not be spared
Life whipped it while it offered empty pleas.
A beggar now, for need of everything
In no man's eyes would sympathy exist
And only after countless sufferings
Might grasp this message and to life enlist:
Be gone the years of empty tales and greed,
Now listen and attend to basic need.

The Lost Souls
I once met an old man in a dream,
A dream that was not all that it seemed.
