Chewy Log Candy

Boil till soft ball stage
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup milk

Add 1 cup pitted dates cut into small pieces

Cook and stir until it leaves the sides of the pan
Remove from heat

Add
1/2 cups walnuts
1/2 cup coconut
Stir well

Roll in a damp cloth
Let stand

Chill and slice
