Is Freemasonry a religion? I'm sorry that Helium did not provide a third option, which is I don't know. How am I or anyone who is not a Freemason supposed to know ... they operate in secret. So my vote is not a no vote, nor is it a yes vote, it is confusion, in utter limbo, wondering what they are doing here pretending to be open and forcing debate on who or what they are, expecting to be intelligently engaged when they are, for want of a better term, a cloak and dagger operation.

I would like to begin my limited engagement of the Freemasons who have descended on Helium as partners, which has obviously involved an investment of money, by thinking out loud for just a bit, and then offering some quotations pertaining to Freemasonry and secret fraternal organizations in general. It may not be appropriate to use quotations for the purpose of writing this piece and making any points I would like to make. But the Freemasons and the supporters of this organization cannot expect me to do anything less, given their unwillingness to be open on the front end. Are they an occult organization? Do they sexually abuse children, as has been alleged in Nebraska, prompting a bishop there to mass excommunicate all Freemasons, even to the point of denying them communion or the Eucharist? Do they drink blood? Are they racists, as their association with Albert Pike would lead many to believe? Are they in touch with aliens who intend to help them take over the world?

Or do they sit around and weave baskets and sing campfire songs? Who knows? People lie. I don't know whether these people are lying or not, which puts anyone who would debate them at a great advantage, while I have no leg to stand on, except to say secrecy in and of itself is suspicious and wrong in a democracy.

So, I hope Helium will forgive me if I use some quotations of others who do have some appreciation of the dangers of secrecy at the highest levels of government and business, and what becomes of a democracy where any organization does not conduct its business out in the open, where the light of day can reveal and eliminate any darkness, and any people who, for whatever reason, wish to hide themselves.

Secrecy, the secrecy of any group, by definition, is exclusivity adopted and achieved by people who believe that they are possessors of special knowledge which they do not wish readily to share. These Freemasons and their supporters can spout PR all over this website, which they have paid to do,
