Are You There?
Are you there?
I've looked everywhere but, I do not see you
(I want to start my life anew)
Are you there?
I listened intently, but I cannot hear you
(There are a lot of thing's I've been going through)
Are you There?
I've tried to get close, but I do not know how to be your friend
(My heart is broken and unable to mend)
Are you there?
Why am I so lonesome?
(Always waiting for my soul mate to come)
Are you there?
Why do I suffer so?
(I am tired, and in pain. I have no where else to go)
Are you there?
Why must our loved ones go?
(I miss them so much. I thought you should know)
I am here!
You can see me everyday, when the sun rises, when babies make a laughing sound
In beautiful flowers, in rain that falls, to re-generate the ground
I am here!
You can hear me, everyday I am in your conscience
That little voice in the back of your head that tells you right from wrong
My voice floats on the notes of a glorious spiritual song
I am here!
You can find me anytime, anywhere, any place
I am always here, to serve as your loving grace
I am here!
You can get close to me, through prayer and constant conversation
Through continual deep meditation
You are so lonely, because you do not seek my company
You do not find, the friend within yourself, or the friend within me
I am here!
I do not make you suffer......
You suffer because, your first parents disobeyed my commands
In turn, their offspring was imperfect and born in sin throughout the land,
With inclinations towards wrongdoing, and weaknesses that could lead to illness,
Which then leads to death...Now, do you understand?
You suffer at the hands of your human race:
They fight wars, commit crimes, pollute the environment
They indulge in things they know can be harmful to their health,
But themselves, they do not pace
There is also a wicked one, who causes my people much pain
I dislike him so much....... I won't even speak his name
I am here!
I loved you so much.... I created you. Yet, I always get the blame
You can't love me unless you know me
If you want to have a relationship, then show me
Remember, you are as close to me as you choose to be
You can't know me without knowing my word
So far, your heartfelt prayer I have not heard
You must desire friendship with your whole heart
You need to have longing, yearning, a thirst
You need to want my word...... At the very least, that's a start
So you see,
I have been looking for you
(yet, you hide from me)
I have been trying to hear your voice
(you stopped speaking)
I have been trying to see your face
(you turn away)
I have tried to be your friend
( you don't want me)
I have left my words in this book, to give you comfort
(you would rather, close your eyes and roll around in sorrow)
Maybe, after this talk... you will do differently tomorrow.
