Poetry: Hallucinations

Are there really rabbits in my wall
some are short and some are tall
Rabbits jumping everywhere
by the burrow, I see a hare

This wall is laughing at me
smiling daisies, purple carrot tree
Pumpkins pink and yellow
notes played by bluebell cello

In the corner sits a fairy
waving at me, looking wary
I want to join her in my car
ride for miles on my sitar

The clouds are green, sky of gold
grass is blue, leaves silvery bold
Birds are swimming in the water
fish are dancing on the mortar

I want to taste, I want to smell
this is heaven, I can tell
The bees hop where bunnies dare
sitting agape, in my lonely chair

What was it, that you put in my cup of tea
perhaps elixir, or a freshly pick garden pea
The foxgloves are growing quite well this year
digitalis in small dosage, it would appear

No, no more tea for me my friend
this hallucination must really end
Both the rabbits and the bees
are running away now, with the trees

Perhaps next week we'll try some cactus
prickly things that require practice
In the mean time, I'll enjoy the view
my brand new wall paper, thanks to you
