Since I have known thee.
Since I have known thee,
Thy hidden flaws have been laid bare.
Thy ebon tresses much too soft,
Thy milk white skin too fair.
Since I have known thee,
Thy dusky eyes twinkle and smile in mine
and make me swoon.
They cloud my head like wine.
Since I have known thee,
Thine every habit's come to light,
Thy morning song bedims the sun,
Thy dance bewitches my night.
Since I have known thee,
my desire for sleep, is past and gone.
Your nearness wakes my soul to flame,
I burn from Dusk till Dawn.
Since I have known thee,
My trade is lost in the market place.
I care no more for other hands,
Nor care to kiss another face.
Since I have known thee.

She waits silently.
