Teens should most definitely wait until marriage to begin having sex. The reason I say that is because teens today are at a very high risk of sexually transmitted diseases. I'm not saying that marriage will stop the risk of these diseases within today's adolescents, but maybe help to reduce the numbers. Teenagers today look at sex as an act of enjoyment, they do not see the bigger picture for them its just to receive an orgasm. Sex is something where two partners embrace each other as one and show their love for one another through sexual intercourse.

When teens hear the words marriage in regard to sex, they become defensive and most of them claim they won't even get married. Today's teens are more exposed to sexual content, as a result they imitate what they see. In television today, sex amongst multiple partners is accepted as more a trend, it encourages the teens that sex is acceptable without marriage. Young men are lead to believe, that the more women he sleeps with the higher his credibility will become. Also teens today are faced with the harsh reality of peer pressure, where if sex is not included in their lives they are laughed at, or picked on. I remember a time when I was being laughed at by my peers, because I had not engaged in having sex yet. From the ridicule I was determined to lose my virginity, that's why I say the pressure is sometimes hard to deal with when trying to wait until marriage.

Marriage is the key ingredient in sexual relationships, because it shows your partner that you really love them and its not just a pleasure thing. Most teenage relationships today end mainly on a bad note, due to the fact that the males only engage in the relationship to get what he wants out of it and leaves. 9 times out of 10 the female ends up pregnant with no male figure around, and the girl is left to fend for herself. This is a common case amongst the youth today, that's why waiting for marriage is an important factor.

Waiting until marriage to engage in sexual intercourse is a very honorable moral to have. In the bible marriage before sex is a sin in God's eyes. If something is immoral in God's eyes then without a doubt it should not be something you want to take act in. Even though I am speaking in the defense of marriage before sex, to some I myself have been proved a hypocrite, because I have participated in sex before marriage. What some may be hard to believe is that in most of my prior relationships, they have been more on the lines of a married couple. Both my partners and I had came to an agreement that we would wait a period of time until we fully got to know each other, before acting on anything. Having that type of standard within our relationship strengthened our love for one another.

My advice to the youth of tomorrow:
1)Try your best to wait until marriage I can't tell you not to wait because I know temptation is overwhelming but try your best to wait.
2)Do not feel as though you are inferior to others just because you have not had sex.
3)You should be proud that you have not lost you virginity before marriage.
4)Get to know your partner before engaging in sexual intercourse.
5)Just smile and know that you are highly respected for having your 'virginity

No one can tell a teen how to live their lives, at some point and time they will be on their own. there's no telling what type of life they are going to live. The only thing parents and other guardians can do is teach them that waiting until marriage to have sex is something positive. From myself, which I am still a teenager, I say to the teens in today's society sex before marriage is the wrong way to go.
