Nothing turns a woman off faster than to be browsing Internet dating sites, come across a profile that seems like a decent, attractive, very appealing man, and halfway down the page there are links to various World of Warcraft sites or references to his D & D guild. I realize that these roleplaying games are popular, much like Nintendo in my day. The fact remains that many women- namely, the more intelligent women- like for a man to be, well, a MAN. No woman wants to play second fiddle to a BOY who entertains himself by spending hours, sometimes days, in front of the computer screen or one who has to jump up in the middle of a romantic evening to keep his " fort" from being attacked. C'mon men!

The basic idea of these " worlds" in roleplaying games are to provide stress relief from the tedious day to day activities of life. The problem is that, like with many of life's guilty pleasures, men can't seem to stop. I have seen countless news shows reporting on one sad situation or another involved with such sites as " WOW", as World of Warcraft is called for short. Granted, there are some women who enjoy it as much as men. Of course, a man who has an on-line dating profile is more than likely is looking for companionship with an opposite.Posting your highest D&D score on-line won't impress a lady worth the effort.
I have several close friends who play on several different roleplaying websites. Of course, these men are gay. And immature. And still live at home at the " young" age of thirty while working third shift at some pizza joint. Are these the men we, as bright, intelligent women of the twenty-first century, want to have as our husbands and fathers to our children? Emphatically, I say NO! Another important issue to bring up is the real wars some men fight every day on foreign soil, while the lame, weak, and cowardly men at home hide behind some fictional character whose claim to fame is shooting fire balls from their anus. How can they look their own fathers in the eye and deign to hold their head up to a man who grew up knowing that the rightful place of any man is to protect their family and good name?
No doubt, I will have several heated persuasions from the other side defending their viewpoint. They are welcome to continue playing childish games and keep their eternal Peter Pan syndrome. With all due respect, I will stick to my opinion and the opinions of women everywhere. We want a real man, not a cartoon character.
