I can't change what happened between us, Dear God I wish I could
I wish that I could undo what it was
I thought from my heart of the pain that you must have felt
I thought deeply about it as I bent down and knelt

My friend I am sorry and I know you are hurt
I feel so badly inside
The way that this happened was so foolish of me

No thinking on my part is what caused you your pain
I want you to know that I see
Bringing up something that happened like that
I am so sorry for hurting you so

I hope that your able to accept what I say
I cannot go back and explain
To me I believe that will only cause you more tears
I can't bear the thought of hurting you more
I hope and I pray the Lord helps us through this
I truly feel that my heart is filled with the rain
The rain of the tears I have caused you

Dear Lord please listen closely and help me to end
The sadness I have caused which will not easily mend
You see dear Lord I really hurt my friend
I feel so sad about what was said which so badly did offend
Dear Lord what I did has caused so much strife
You see dear Lord I really hurt my friend

Friends are important in my life and she is such a gentle being
I was foolish in this and carried about without ever totally seeing
Ever totally looking at actions I took
Which could have avoided this end and the needed healing
I didn't stop to think before I spoke about what I wrote
I didn't do it on purpose but oh none the less the outcome it is so unjust
So unfair to her as my friend, so unfair to her as a person

Lord please forgive me and help me to say
What needs to be said the next time my path crosses her way
I don't know the words to fulfill her need
Please use your wisdom and plant the seed
Inside of me Lord please take the lead
I need you to help me to fix what I damaged
It's heavy and hurting me because that's a friend I will miss
Should she choose not to accept what I say
Please give me the strength to accept it that way
Please bless her special each and everyday
And help me in the future to watch what I say

Lord please be with my friend and help her to heal
Please make sure to bless her and care for her heart
I know that I truly have hurt her so real
Please allow peace to enter her life in a very special way
Hold onto her Lord and heal her wounds
The wounds that I caused her please cure

Once again Lord I am sorry I know you understand
Please forgive me as I know you expect more from me
I am humbled by this I am bent down on my knee
