Poetry: Rage

RAGE

I knew a lad, Christen Bell, I knew him so very well
A lad with a steady pace, with never a gloomy face
As boy and young man, he set goals, for a life time plan
All that he had met, praised the ways he had set

Then one night, unexplained, while violent a storm reigned
In a bar, not very far, sipping a drink, he came to the brink
A thought that he had, must have driven him mad
For in a moment of mind, A terrible rage, he did find

As if a lion engaged, A horrible rage, that he now waged
Being a young man, strong, He did people hurtingly wrong
The call went out, as the first three dropped, a bloody hell
Now befell, they struggled to subdue, but when the cops were through

Christen Bell, know so well, laid on the ground, where he fell
Never known on any written page, the cause of his awful rage
But the young man of steady pace, now laid down upon his face
His once loving nature and generous heart, have now burst apart

    The rage that consumes
    my body and my soul
