Just when you thought the fun was grinding to a halt, it comes back with a vengeance. Okay, it doesn't hurt; in fact it doesn't even sting here at Sun River Oregon, where the fun never ends. At least that's what it seems like here in Sun River Oregon. With the incredible beauty of the majestic Cascade Mountains, the array of outdoor activities and the diverse and very popular yet relaxing events, summer just keeps rolling along.

You have to come to Sun River for a month long vacation. In this resort community nestled at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, are an abundance of activities and festivals that start sometime in January and keep going throughout the year. The best time to come to the area is in the summer to hang out and catch some festivals and events, and stay in a vacation rental home, for as long as you like. But, there's a really cool event held here every year for car lovers.

It's called the Sun River Exotic Car Show. It's held at Sun River Village, that is the restaurant boutique area of town to buy what you need and what you desire. People from all over Oregon, Colorado and Washington drive their exotic cars to this popular event that is held every September. In this gorgeous, pure-air, sunny, natural haven, on September 13 and 14, over 100 cars from three states, and possibly yours, will be driving to this pristine area for a car show unlike any other.

It's a low- key event where people compare and contrast cars. Car- lovers talk to each other and exotic car wannabes get to drool over the beautiful cars. Basically it's a couple of days to get together and talk about car driving experiences. There are events going on such as a wine and cheese party for people to delight in the wonderfully sweet tasting wines of the Sun River region. A dinner is held on Saturday to eat more delicious food and drink more sweet tasting yet hearty wines.

While you are in Sun River you can enjoy the plethora of outdoor activities such as walking, hiking or bicycling on over 30 miles of paved walkways while enjoying the spectacular views of majestic Mt. Bachelor. You could also check out the High Desert Museum, and the local Nature Center.

You can plan your vacation to coincide with other events and festivals happening here. The Cascade Festival of Music in nearby Bend, Oregon begins on August 23 and goes until the end of August. It is a great time to be had for everyone. For golf lovers, there's the Jeld-Wen Tradition Champion Golf Event. This is the final major championship for the year held right here at Sun River Resorts. That happens on August 13, at the Crosswater Golf Course. The Sun River Music Festival begins on August 6, and goes till August 23. It is a three weeks celebration of music kicking off with a free concert. The Misty River Band will perform on the Meadows Gold Course.

There's a lot going on in this Mecca of nature, Sun River, Oregon. You will want to spend a long time here, enjoying all that nature has to offer and all that man has to offer too.
