Advice for soon-to-be college grads looking for work

It's the season again, the fresh graduates are just coming out of college, leaving the carefree life to venture into the world of jobs and careers. With increasing unemployment rate, and fears of recession it is going to be quite a challenge for this summer's crop of college graduates. Most of us have been through this stage of looking for our first jobs, for some it may come really easy, but some of us struggle and have a bumpy landing. As someone who has been through the ordeal,I can offer some advice for these new grads and hope that it will help them achieve their goal. Here are some tips:

Get your Finances organized:
This is the age of credit cards, most of the graduates do have them, and use them heavily.Financial experts say that an average graduate student comes out of college with somewhere around $20,000 in credit card debt.Don't be one of those people.Try to stay on budget.Use your debit card instead of the credit card.If you do use credit card pay it off promptly,it will not only save you tons of money ,it will also improve your credit score.Having a higher credit score will do you good on the long run,by keeping the interest rates low on the loans you get to buy things like car,or a house,or even for higher education. This is incredibly important and every college student should keep this in mind while they are in college. If you think that you can sort it out after you graduate it might be too late to do anything. If you are working while in college, save as much as you can,to support yourself for at least 6 months after you graduate. This will give you a mental security, and financial stability to take a breather and hunt for a suitable job.It will also enable you to move to a city where you can find better opportunities, and rent a place for yourself during the job hunt.

Keep your paperwork updated:
Your certificates of achievements, your degree or diploma certificates, and your transcripts are going to be most important in your job hunt. They give you credibility.Keep them organized and make several copies of each,if possible get couple of them attested,so if needed you have one ready.Request multiple copies of your transcripts from your college registrar,I think most of them will allow upto 5 original copies sealed in envelops with some extra fees.Open one to make copies and keep other sealed envelops safe for future use. Also keep your social security card, bank statements and other financial documents handy,as you may need to use them.Don't forget about the health
